Job Description
Our client a top financial institution is currently seeking Linux System Engineer to support their Fintech team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers and related hardware and software systems, including virtualized environments using VMware and Tanzu
• Develop and implement system policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the security, reliability, and availability of server infrastructure
• Monitor and troubleshoot server performance issues and take appropriate action to maintain optimal performance
• Install, configure, and maintain various server applications such as web servers, database servers, and email servers
• Administer virtualized environments, including creating and managing virtual machines and implementing disaster recovery strategies
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including server inventory, configuration, and maintenance records
• Collaborate with other IT staff and business units to design and implement IT solutions that align with business needs and goals
• Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including resolving technical issues and answering questions related to server infrastructure
• Implement and manage backup, antivirus, and storage solutions for server infrastructure

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent and with minimum 3 years of working experience
• Proven experience in designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and Linux servers, including virtualized environments using VMware and Tanzu
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V
• Familiarity with server hardware components such as CPUs, memory, storage, and networking
• Experience with server operating systems such as Windows Server and various Linux distributions
• Strong knowledge of server applications such as Apache, IIS, MySQL/MSSQL, AD and Exchange
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Experience with administering virtualized environments, including creating and managing virtual machines and implementing disaster recovery strategies
• Experience with implementing and managing backup, antivirus, and storage solutions for server infrastructure
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other IT staff and business units
